Many couples ask ''what is an engagement shoot''?
It is not necessarily a shoot because you are engaged as many couples are engaged long before they meet us, It is more a case of getting to know us and how we work and also about you feeling comfortable in front of a camera.
The first thing most brides and grooms say to us is ''we hate having our photograph taken.'' The engagement shoot relaxes people and more often than not it shows them that they can, and do take a lovely photo, it's all about catching someone at the right moment with the right expression, laughing or smiling naturally, or even just talking.
The shoot is held on location and we love it if you can suggest a place that is special to you or somewhere you spend time together, or that reflects your personalities. If you are struggling to think of somewhere we are happy to make some suggestions for you (we once did a shoot at the zoo as the couple got engaged on safari in Africa!).
You get to give us feedback on the photos, you may not like a certain type of picture of yourself or a certain angle, we can then make sure we avoid these shots on your wedding day. Just by meeting up again it makes us all more personal with each other, chatting about your plans over a coffee (or something stronger) during the shoot.
The photos will go onto an online gallery for you to view and download as you wish, some couples use the photos in a signing book on their wedding day, if you choose to do this we could design and provide the album for you or you can do it yourself. The photos will also be put onto your USB after the wedding for you to keep.
