One of the perks of being a wedding photographer is all the yummy scrummy cakes that we get to take photos of, and even have a taste of some of them. May of them are works of art and we are constantly amazed by what can be created for the bride and groom.
If you are looking for inspiration for your wedding cake then here are a few ideas. If you are feeling hungry then it might be a good time to look away!
The Wonky Cake
When I first saw this fabulous cake at Liza and John's wedding at The Great Hall at Mains in Blackpool, I thought someone had knocked it and it was falling over! This very clever design is the work of RebeccaLouCakes.
His and Hers Wedding Cake
This stunning wedding cake is from Emma and Chris' wedding at Dove Barn in Suffolk. I loved all the delicate detail and the pearls on one side of the cake. How cool though that when you turn the cake around the other half is for him! Made to look like a shirt, tie and suit jacket. The amazing detail even includes the buttonhole flower!
The Naked Cake
I know these cakes are very popular at the moment but I loved this one at Lauren and Paul's wedding at The Oyster Bar at Snape Maltings in Suffolk. It was so simple yet so beautiful. The bridesmaids loved it! It was made up of different flavours including red velvet, banana and chocolate. We got to try some and yes it was delicious!
The Cheesecake Wedding Cake
I absolutely love cheese so when I saw Sam and Dean's wedding cake made entirely out of different types of cheese, I was very excited! Their wedding reception was at The Sandbank in Southend, and the venue did a fabulous job with this cheese wedding cake. I loved the way it was decorated and the heart shaped cheese finished it off beautifully. Oh and my favourite was the bright yellow cheese (the second layer up).
The Seaside Cake
Sarah and David held their wedding at The Roslin Beach on the seafront in Southend, so what a fantastic idea to have a Southend seaside themed wedding cake. I adore the details that went into this cake down to the tiny shells and even the bucket and spade with sand in it. The sweet "just married" sign above the door on the beach hut finishes the cake off perfectly.
