A Christmas Wedding at Woolwich and Leadenhall Market with Nicola and Alex

Nicola and Alex wanted a Christmas wedding and chose the stunning Woolwich Registry Office for their ceremony.  The interior of this building is beautiful and even more so with the Christmas decorations and tree.  It was a cold and misty winter day, but everyone was full of smiles as they arrived for the ceremony.  Alex wore a kilt made with his family tartan, together with a matching wool jacket and Nicola had a wrap to keep her warm.  After the ceremony we took a few photos and threw lots of confetti over the couple on the steps before heading to the reception at Leadenhall Market.

Nicola and Alex had hired a green racing mini to take them across London to their wedding reception at The Lamb Tavern in Leadenhall Market.  We jumped on the red double decker bus with all the wedding guests who were supplied with glasses of champagne as they stepped onto the bus.  The groomsmen did a great job of keeping everyone's glasses topped up and this together with the slow traffic of London meant that a few guests had to jump off to try and find toilets and then run to get back on the bus.  A couple didn't make it back onto the bus and turned up at the reception by taxi later!

Leadenhall Market looked beautiful with all the Christmas lights and Christmas tree.  Everyone was greeted with hot toddies and shots to warm everyone up.  The meal was then served in the upstairs rooms in the Lamb Tavern which were warm and cozy and decorated with the Christmas theme.  All the guests made full use of the Christmas photo props on the tables and enjoyed the jokes and funny stories made during the speeches.

To end the evening Nicola and Alex cut their wedding cake which was made of cheese, and started to fall over as they cut into it.  Then everyone headed out onto the street in Leadenhall Market for Nicola and Alex's first dance under the Christmas tree.  Everyone else then joined in with the dancing out on the street under the Christmas lights.  It really was a magical Christmas wedding.  We had a such a fun day with Nicola, Alex and their family and friends.

A Christmas Wedding at Maidens Barn with Elizabeth + Dan

We had the great pleasure of capturing the wonderful Wedding of Elizabeth and Dan at the lovely venue Maidens Barn just a week before Christmas.

Elizabeth, her bridesmaids and members of her family spent the previous night at the beautiful house and setting of Six Apples Cottage in Wethersfield, and had full use of the cottage to prepare for the big day on the morning of the wedding. Breakfast included mince pies and pancakes together with a few glasses of bubbly.  Elizabeth got ready upstairs with her bridesmaids, and one of them noticed a butterfly sitting on Elizabeth's dress before she put it on, which we decided was definitely a good luck sign. The short journey to Maidens Barn was made in a white taxi to meet up with the rest of the wedding guests and of course Dan, who along with his best man had been greeting their guests as they arrived.

The ceremony took place in the Oak Barn, a relatively new addition to the venue, with music on the piano being provided by Piano DJ.

The ceremony was followed by drinks and canapes in the courtyard as the weather was being very kind and quite mild for this time of the year, with the white taxi coming into the courtyard for some photos of the couple before capturing some lovely outdoor shots of their families and guests. Elizabeth and Dan are such a fun couple and helped us to capture some great shots of themselves in this awesome venue.

The time had arrived to head inside for a wonderful wedding breakfast followed by some hilarious speeches, much to the pleasure of all.

As the evening drew in we went outside to create some fun sparkler shots followed by the cake cutting and first dance. James from Piano DJ provided the music for the night entertainment and had everyone up and dancing. Elizabeth and Dan added our photobooth option to their package, which proved to be a laugh with their guests - even their Grandad came in for a fab photo. All too soon it was home time for us as we left the wedding party to celebrate into the night.

Thanks so much Elizabeth and Dan for having us as your photographers, we loved every minute sharing your special day.  Here are just a few of our favourites.
